Regulation 9 of the Licensing and Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation and other Houses (Miscellaneous Provisions) (England) Regulations 2006
On 8 January 2019 Coventry City Council met and it was unanimously approved to conduct a consultation on proposals to designate the whole of the area subject to additional licensing for HMOs under Part 2 of the Housing Act 2004.
The response to this consultation was beyond the Council’s expectations and resulted in overwhelming support for the designation of Additional Licensing of HMOs in Coventry.
A further report, which included the overall results of the consultation and the basis of the structure of the setup of the scheme was submitted to the council on the 14th January 2020 that it in facts designates all HMOs in the city subject to additional licensing for five years.
The designation for the new scheme will come into effect on the 4th May and will cease to on the 3rd May 2020, or sooner if the council decides to revoke the scheme earlier.
In accordance with Regulation 9 of the Licensing and Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation and other Houses (Miscellaneous Provisions) (England) Regulations 2006 the council have issued a public notice relating to the designation made by the Council on 14 January 2020.
